A few words about ECommerce.
This can get expensive but here are the costs up front. You can't cut corners and you can't be too careful when dealing with financial issues.
A full service online shopping cart service like Shopping Cart Guru™ can save you quite a lot of money. Custom built ecommerse solution software PowerStore™ from WebAssist™ can be purchased but it is not a stand-alone application. It is an Adobe Dreamweaver® extension.
Free ecommerce software for shopping carts including: Oscommerse® or Zencart® market solutions with PayPal® funtionality do not cost money, but they require an extensive knowledge of PHP and MySQL to use or modify the code for your own store. I have set up both as demo stores. You should be able to set up the demonstration stores quickly and easily aftercompleting the 7 lessons on this site.
Additional costs: Shopping cart software equires a dedicated server at $5.95/month and a security certificate @ $45/yr. and a PayPal™ Pro payment gateway account which is an additional cost. PayPal does cost money for a merchant account. (See Below.)
